Strength training workouts are greatly beneficial to everyone from youngsters to seniors. It is a fallacy that you can't add strength training routines in your fitness program beyond a certain age. In fact, your muscles will become stronger, your frame will become more stable and balanced, and you won't need to ever depend on others for your chores if you continue weights training in old age.

Including strength training workouts in your fitness program is highly advantageous, as it is also known to improve bone density. Research has shown that the aging process has lesser effect on the bones with weight training programs.

Women after menopause are especially susceptible to losing bone density due to the immense hormonal changes. Weight training programs can help them avoid this situation and maintain a good bone density.

For people of all ages, strength training workouts coupled with a good nutrition plan are great for burning fat from all over the body. Muscles need a lot of fuel for maintaining themselves; therefore the more lean muscle you have, the more fat you will burn. Strength training workouts, thus, are not just about building muscle. You will shed fat quicker than any other method.

Studies have also proven the benefits of strength training in lowering blood pressure, lowering the resting heart rate, and therefore boosting heart health substantially.

Perhaps the most visible benefit of strength training workouts is greater physical strength, which easily translates to greater mental strength as well. You will have a more active lifestyle and more energy to go about your daily life. With so many benefits of resistance training, it is definitely a boon for anyone who wants to live a fulfilling life.

The best thing is that you don't need to train for long hours to benefit from weight training programs. Even a short session will provide you with all the benefits, provided you train consistently.
